PhD in Information Theory
Modern communications impose short delay and large data rates constraints. This motivates the search of novel finite block-length bounds to better characterize the system performance. This new research line offers several exciting opportunities, as the one offered here.
Interested in joining our group? PhD scholarships are available in the field of information theory. These positions are aimed to providing a unified framework for the study of finite-length information theory. Specific research topics include (but are not limited to):
- Finite-length information theory
- Quantum information theory
- Joint source-channel coding
- Multiple-access and broadcast techniques
We seek motivated and talented doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers with a strong mathematical background. We offer you the opportunity to be part of an internationally leading group. Interested students are encouraged to contact Dr. Gonzalo Vazquez-Vilar to find out more about our research and open positions.
